Courses include: Project Planning and Appraisal, GIS and Remote Sensing, Environmental Planning, Policy and Legislation, Ecosystems, Research Methods, Environmental Economics, Health and the Environment, Environmental Management in mining, Water Resources management, City and the Environment and Environmental Impact Assessment.

BA (Hons) in Geography &Environmental Science-University of Zimbabwe [August 2005 – July 2008] I Specialized in Environmental Systems, Hydro-meteorology, Climatology, Global Climate Change, GIS and Remote Sensing, Bio-Geography, Eco-systems, Socio-economic Geography and Natural Resources Management.

*Chigwena has been teaching Climatology, Global Climate change and Environmental studies at Zimbabwe OPEN University. Chigwena has good experience in offering similar consultancy activities and baseline surveys to both local and International Organisations including the United Nations. He has done similar work for UNAIDS 1. Consultancy Services offered to the UNAIDS: [1st October – December 17] ‘Mapping and characterization of HIV AIDS Hotspots in Zimbabwe’. Chigwena worked for UNAIDS as a consultancy in a project that aimed at mapping and characterizing the HIV AIDS hot spots in Zimbabwe. The exercise involved the desk review and analysis of the available data and trends on HIV. He worked together with the World Food Programme [WFP] team in conducting the exercise and was part of the GIS analysis & mapping team for this particular project. He has coordinated and supervised several national Baseline surveys and capacity assessments nationally working within the Ministry of Health & Child Care Unit of Epidemiology & Diseases Control and National Malaria Control Programmes. He has also vast experience in Planning & mapping in-conjunction with ZIMSTATS identifying appropriate sites and location for mapping exercises. He has been instrumental in designing, training and implementation of several national surveys. Training in PDAs use, data collection, saving data and back-up precautions. He plays an active role in policy, advocacy, programme design and management at national level with strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, exceptional IT skills, staff supervision, capacity building and technical service provision skills.
